Implementation of bar-code identification of blood bags, known as ISBT 128, marked a major accomplishment. This system follows advanced, international blood banking standards incorporating a unique identifier for blood bags and tubes collected, processed and delivered to hospitals.

The labeling system sets OBI apart as a forerunner in blood safety and security practices. It allows blood collected from Oklahomans to be used by our military or others in crisis- need situations around the world.
